Wales has got a lot of castles and sheep. We’ve seen quite a few, both of them.
Cardiff was a little bit different than other destinations. Yes, it was quite ugly but not such a conflict area anymore. At least not in the last centuries.
Other notable difference is we stayed in an appartment instead of an hotel. “A space in the city” was very spacious, but without coffee machine very dissappointing. Lights not working, not enough blankets, no separate beds didn’t help either.
We had dinner in Le Monde. Reviews on Tripadvisor were good, and it wasn’t cheap. Turned out to be a place packed with noisy families and mediocre service and food. We had the impression people were afraid their coats to be stolen. You had to throw it over your chair.
The other day we had dinner in the harbour. Not very impressing.
The nice red brick Pierhead Building hall near the Harbour. The Pierhead Building is part of the estate of the National Assembly for Wales. It contains a musem at the moment.
Caerphilly Castle. Build between 1268 – 1290. It’s half an hour drive from Cardiff. It’s really an oldschool castle in a charming town.
A castle in the countryside. We walked up to the ruin of the castle.
